Elective: Gastroenterology In Bowling Green

The clinical elective is a four-week rotation that allows the student to obtain in-depth exposure to gastroenterology with an expert preceptor(s) at a regional hospital. The student will experience the day-to-day activities of this specialty in the hospital and outpatient setting. Students participate in workups, evaluation and management of patients with a wide variety of liver, pancreatic and intestinal diseases. For many patients, endoscopic observation permits the close correlation of clinical manifestations with the underlying pathologic state.

Elective: Nephrology In Bowling Green

The clinical elective is a four-week rotation that allows students an opportunity to evaluate and follow patients with the entire spectrum of kidney diseases in both hospital (inpatient ward, intensive care units) and clinic settings (both general nephrology and dialysis clinics). Patients followed include those with acute and chronic kidney diseases, hypertension, mineral electrolyte abnormalities, acid-base disturbances, metabolic bone diseases, receiving dialysis or post renal transplantation.

Elective: Outpatient Pulmonary Medicine In Bowling Green

The clinical elective is a four-week rotation that allows the student to obtain in-depth exposure to pulmonary medicine with an expert preceptor (s) at an outpatient clinic associated with a regional medical center. The student will experience the day-to-day activities of this specialty in the outpatient setting to understand the fundamentals of the practice, the clinical examination, and the use of ancillary lab tests in the identification, investigation, and management of patients with pulmonary disease.

Elective: Outpatient Cardiology In Bowling Green

The clinical elective is a four-week rotation that allows the student to obtain in-depth exposure to outpatient cardiology with an expert preceptor(s) at an outpatient clinic associated with a regional medical center. Students are expected to be proficient at acquisition of the history and performance of the physical examination, are expected to integrate data from the history and physical with appropriate studies and synthesize cogent patient assessments and plans, and to utilize these skills in the work-up of patients that are seen in the outpatient clinic.

Elective: Hospice And Palliative Care In Bowling Green

This clinical elective is a four-week rotation that allows the student to obtain in-depth exposure to hospice and palliative care with an expert preceptor(s) in a community setting. The student will experience the day-to-day activities of this specialty in the hospital and outpatient settings as well as home visits by participating as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

It covers advanced operations and management practices applied to multi-purpose production systems based on Toyota's current True Lean/TPS thinking to support the attainment of highest customer satisfaction by focusing on Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, Delivery and Human Resource Development.
