Acting Internship: Medical Intensive Care Unit - Northern Kentucky

As part of the fourth-year course offerings in the College of Medicine, this primary acting internship is designed to provide students with an advanced level of direct patient care responsibility, greater than that required during a third-year clerkship or fourth-year elective in internal medicine. During this course, the student will assume direct responsibility for management of patient care, and with the appropriate oversight of supervising physicians, assume the responsibilities of a first-year intern.

Elective: Pulmonary Rehabilitation - Northern Kentucky

With the advice and approval of the faculty adviser and the Student Progress and Promotions Committee, the fourth-year student may choose approved electives offered by the various departments in the College of Medicine. The intent is to provide the student an opportunity to develop their fund of knowledge and clinical competence. To meet curricular demands, all students in the College of Medicine are required to own or have reliable access to a laptop computer meeting the minimum performance standards.

Discovering Balance: A Personal Journey Towards Health And Nutrition

Discovering Balance is a course that examines the dimensions of health and wellness, with a specific focus on nutrition and finding balance between all aspects of wellbeing. An emphasis is placed on factors that influence health, particularly individual behaviors surrounding nutrition, mindfulness, and connection. Students will participate in self-assessments that provide information about their dietary habits and other health behaviors, using that knowledge to plan for ways to gain personal improvement in each area of the wellness wheel.

Historical Instrument Ensemble

Historical Instrument Ensemble; Rehearsals and performances of repertoire from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, on replicas of the original instruments for which that music was written. Students will study and apply techniques appropriate to historically informed performance practice drawn from material in primary sources.
