World Music For Teachers

This course provides a comprehensive survey of world music for teachers, an introduction to theories and methodologies of ethnomusicology and preparation for developing a more in-depth knowledge of a given musical region. Prerequisite: Graduate standing or consent of instructor.

Culturally Competent Healthcare: Client, Clinician, And Organizational Perspectives

This interprofessional course will increase students' multicultural awareness, knowledge, and skill in the assessment and provision of healthcare. Models will be evaluated that aim to enhance the assessment and provision of culturally competent care, from the clinician to the organizational levels. Students will learn how to integrate evidence-based decision-making competencies to maximize attention to the needs of a diverse healthcare workforce.

Informatics And Healthcare Technologies For Advanced Nursing Practice

This course focuses on information and communication technologies utilized for the advancement of evidence-based nursing, in varied practice settings and with diverse populations. Knowledge and skills necessary to participate in analyzing, planning, implementing, and evaluating healthcare information technologies will be explored. Emerging topics pertaining to health IT: new technologies, regulations, ethics, safety, and patient/community engagement will be covered.

Orhtodontic Diagnosis

This is a two credit-hour seminar course offered at the graduate level within the specialty program in orthodontics. The course provides in-depth information concerning methods and rationale for gathering a comprehensive database for orthodontic patients. Analysis and interpretation of the database is approached by using the orthogonal analysis technique. The process of developing a treatment plan from the database will be thoroughly explored.
