As scientists learn more about the neurobiological underpinnings of behavior, including violent, criminal behavior, we can begin to understand more about what serial killers think and feel, which can begin to shed light on the motivation behind their behaviors. In this class, we will explore who commits multiple murders and why they do it from a neuroscientific perspective.

The purpose of this course is to stimulate thinking and discussions about the ethical dilemmas facing research in health and rehabilitation sciences. This class was developed in response to changes in societal perception and regulatory issues in biomedical and health care-related research. By discussing the many facets of realistic ethical challenges, we will be able to respond in the most thoughtful and appropriate manner allowed by the situation.

Critical Issues In Stem Education

This course is designed to study critical issues in the teaching and learning of STEM disciplines in P-20 education. A primary focus will be on analyzing topics in STEM with a critical perspective and applying such perspectives to a community issue in STEM. Throughout the course, the relationship between theory and practice will be emphasized in an attempt to understand some of the complexities and challenges in addressing critical issues in STEM learning and teaching.
