Pharmaceutical Engineering

Pharmaceutical Engineering is a cross-disciplinary field requiring knowledge of engineering principles, materials science, and an understanding of the unique aspects of developing active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) into finish dosage forms. Sales Promotion And Sponsorship

This course will guide students to explore the principles and applications of sales promotion and sponsorship within ISC campaigns. It will explain why sales promotion and sponsorship are widely used and how the strategies work at the consumer and trade sales levels. Students will explore the various forms of sales promotion and sponsorship and develop competency on how to use the techniques as effective components of an overall ISC campaign.

Medical Laboratory Science is a profession that aids in the diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease. This course will provide a brief introduction to the basic tests that are performed in the four major disciplines (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunohematology) of the clinical laboratory and allow the student to perform testing in each.

M1-M2 Elective In Ophthalmology

This is a clinically oriented course designed for first and second year medical students interested in an introduction to basic ophthalmologic examination. Along with learning proper examination technique, students will be introduced to basic anatomy of the eye and common ailments affecting the visual system. Learning and assessment will be done through small-group workshops with clinical skills sessions in the eye clinic.

Elective: Extramural Rotation In Family Medicine

Clinical electives allow students to gain exposure to medical specialties reflecting their career interests. Extramural electives allows students to experience clinical care in different environments at different institutions. Through this extramural clinical elective, the student will complete a clinical rotation in Family Medicine at another institution. The specific rotation details and institution must be approved by the course director.

Elective: Clinical Informatics

The Clinical Informatics Elective is a four-week experience designed for the medical student who desires further experience in Health Information Systems, information technology, and data processing. Students will be exposed to technical and nontechnical aspects of practical informatics through a combination of independent learning modules, lectures, and mentorship with current UK HealthCare Clinical Informaticists and Information Technology Medical Directors.
