Research In Pharmacology

Independent study on a research question or problem in Pharmacology. The topic is selected in collaboration with a faculty mentor, and the research is conducted under the supervision of a faculty member. The goal of this course is for students to have a meaningful research experience working directly with a faculty member and/or a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow in data collection and analysis, as well as conducting a portion of the research project independently.

Professional Development For Scientists

The purpose of this course is to introduce graduate students to useful topics in their quest to attain and retain a tenure track researcher position (or equivalent) at some point in their scientific future. These subjects are not always taught by mentors or through a traditional curriculum, but they are of utmost importance in a successful career. A breadth of issues will be presented that many principal investigators would say they wished they learned in graduate school and should give students the resources to become competitive scientific professionals.

Tutorial Interdis Issues

As a tutorial, this course is structured individually to a student's research and study projects. Topics and issues are to be chosen and pursued in work that integrates philosophical methods and ideas within other disciplinary areas. May be repeated to a maximum of nine credits.
