Child Sexual Abuse Assessment

This course is designed to prepare students to practice with individuals and families affected by child sexual abuse. Theory, process models, and evidence based practices relevant to child sexual abuse will be presented. The course will focus on developing practice behaviors necessary to assess and provide case management for children, families, and offenders in child sexual abuse cases.

Understanding Intimate Partner Violence

The course is designed to provide students with opportunities to explore the prevalence and impact of intimate partner violence (IPV) and history of systemic response to it. Students will be introduced to methods of engagement, assessment, and intervention based on current research and practice knowledge. Particular attention will be given to the examination of personal and professional values regarding IPV as well as co-occurring issues.
