The Champions Fund

Become a Champion and transform a Kentucky student's life

The Arts and Sciences Champions initiative is designed to support Kentucky students from start to finish by providing both financial and personal support. These scholars are high-achieving, first generation students with unmet financial need.

How it works

Champions donors commit to giving annually for four years, which helps cover a wide range of needs: tuition, textbooks, and transformational experiences such as research, education abroad and internships. These students are also supported through the College’s First Gen Trailblazers Program, which offers mentoring, professional development and a strong sense of community.

Impact

Your gift supports:

  • Tuition and course materials that remove financial barriers to learning
  • Transformative experiences such as education abroad, internships and research
  • Career preparation that builds confidence and job-ready skills
  • Leadership development and mentoring that inspires students to aim higher

You will receive updates on the student’s progress and take pride in knowing your investment helped shape a bright future.

Meet Champions Scholars

"I couldn’t get the financial aid I needed. I was taking out student loans with no clue about how I could repay them. Then, I received an unexpected call that changed the trajectory of my life. Someone wanting to do that for a college kid, it was inspiring. I can only imagine how much this scholarship could help others, seeing how much of an impact it made on me spiritually, financially and socially."

“With this scholarship, I’ve had more than enough funding to further my career here in psychology and neuroscience. Although some in my family have attended college, none had financial support from universities like I do. Studying medicine gets closer and closer – a dream come true for my family.”

"Because of this scholarship, I was able to study abroad in France this summer - something my family and I were worried we wouldn’t be able to afford. The support has also eased the stress of taking out student loans and helps me feel less like I’ll be in a financial hole after graduation, especially since I plan to pursue graduate school. Having this extra help in undergrad lets me look toward my future education with excitement instead of fear."
