Topics In Lin: World Language Methods

An in-depth investigation of topics in the fields of theoretical and/or applied linguistics with emphasis on a particular country/region/linguistic population, language or language group. Possible topics include: history of a language or language group; sociolinguistics of a language or language group(s); structure of a language or language group; phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics or discourse analysis of a language and/or its dialects; acquisition of pragmatic, cultural and/or communicative competence in a language.

Advanced Topics In Lin: Tchng Japanese

An in-depth investigation of topics in the fields of general and/or applied linguistics with emphasis on a particular country/region/linguistic population, language or language group. Clinical Experience In Rural Health

This course is designed to be an immersive clinical experience for core principle students to introduce them to rural health. The only way to truly understand the barriers facing rural communities is to learn in an environment impacted by limited resources and transportation challenges. Students will have the opportunity to explore rural healthcare in a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, primary care, surgical care, subspecialty care, and home visits.

Emergency Medicine Clerkship

As part of the third-year core required clinical rotations, this clinical clerkship is designed to provide students with foundational knowledge in Emergency Medicine. Through a variety of clinical experiences, students will participate in the care of Emergency Medicine patients. Students will develop and refine their clinical skills (e.g. interviewing, physical examination, differential diagnosis, and formulating diagnostic and treatment plans) for patient problems under the direct supervision of faculty preceptors. Clinical, 25-30 hours per week.

Deterministic Systems

Concepts of linear systems, singularity functions, convolution and superposition integrals, state-variable method for linear systems, relation between transfer function and state-variable equations, fundamental matrix, state-transition matrix, unit-impulse response matrix, and transmission matrix.
