From the classical Greek pankration (an ancient martial art combining wrestling and boxing) via medieval jousting all the way to modern soccer, the study of sporting activities affords us revealing insights into cultures around the globe and across the ages.

Elective: Clinical Experience In Rural Health

This course is designed to be an immersive clinical experience for core principle students to introduce them to rural health. The only way to truly understand the barriers facing rural communities is to learn in an environment impacted by limited resources and transportation challenges. Students will have the opportunity to explore rural healthcare in a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, primary care, surgical care, subspecialty care, and home visits.

Elective: Internal Medicine And Pediatrics Subspecialty Transitional Care

This clinical elective is designed to provide fourth-year medical students with an understanding of the unique challenges and specialized care required for patients living with pediatric diseases as they transition into adulthood. This elective course equips students with the knowledge and clinical insights necessary to facilitate a patient- centered transition process for individuals facing this critical life stage. This course will focus on subspecialty care.
