Burt Davis, longtime associate director for the University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research's Clean Fuels and Chemicals Group, has been selected as the 2013 American Chemical Society's Energy & Fuels Division Distinguished Researcher Award in Petroleum Chemistry.
WiPS (Women in Political Science) brings in Dina Badie (Ph.D, Centre College) as its third and last speaker of the fall to present her current research titled "Petro Patrons: Rentier States and Security in the Persian Gulf." Overall, her research focuses on topics involving Security Studies, Oil Politics, Foreign Policy, and Middle East and East Asian Politics. She has published her work in Foreign Policy Analysis, International Studies Perspective, and The Routledge Handbook of American Foreign Policy.
