Crocker, Odom, Condon receive grant for Expanding Your Horizons workshop

Ellen Crocker (forestry), Susan Odom (chemistry), and Bradford Condon (plant pathology) received a grant from KY NSF EPSCoR for Education and Outreach Activities, which will fund an Expanding Your Horizons conference at the University of Kentucky. This STEM conference for middle school girls will feature interactive activities led by UK undergraduate and graduate students and will include college preparation sessions for accompanying parents. The conference will be held in the Jacobs Science Building on April 29, 2017. For more information, contact Dr.

People Behind Our Research: Claire Renzetti

 

 

Claire Renzetti is the Judy Conway Patton Endowed Chair in the Center for Research on Violence Against Women and chair of the sociology department at the University of Kentucky. Focusing on rape crisis counseling and violence in lesbian relationships, Renzetti seeks to produce knowledge that improves the quality of women's lives.

Panel Discussion on "Frontiers in Genetics and Genomics"

This panel discussion (10/19/2016) engaged the general public in current topics of genetics and genomics, such as assembling genomes, gene editing and gene drives, gene therapy in medicine, GMOs, bioethics, and “big unanswered questions”.
