Autotransfusion, also called cell salvage, is the process of collecting shed blood, separating the red cells from the plasma, washing the red cells, and re-administering them to the patient.

We’re looking for students who will help us deep dive into the movie scripts we receive from top studios. We need your help to make sure the scripts are written in proper screenplay format before they’re analyzed.

Dr. David M. Allen, Agriculture B.S. '61, M.S. '64 (Dr. Bing Zhang Department of Statistics)

2018 Hall of Fame inductee David M. Allen grew up on a dairy farm near Sebree, Ky. He attended the University of Kentucky, where he earned a B.S. in 1961 and an M.S. in 1964, both in agriculture. While working on his thesis, he discovered the statistics field and decided to pursue it as a career. He received his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in experimental statistics from North Carolina State University.
