Evidence-Based Nursing Practice

This course provides the opportunity to apply knowledge of the research process, research utilization and program evaluation models, or evidence-based practice to address a clinical problem. Under the guidance of a faculty advisor, students are expected to work with clinical staff to identify and address a clinical problem. A written scholarly report reflecting the process and outcomes of the activity is the final product.

Problems In Clinical Nur

This course provides opportunity for the study of nursing problems in particular clinical areas and for the further development of techniques of nursing intervention. Ratio of discussion/laboratory hours will vary according to designated clinical problems. May be repeated to a maximum of 12 credits.

Iss In Rural Nursing & Hlth Care Delivry

This course will focus on the exploration of models for providing preventive, primary health care, acute care, and chronic health care services in rural areas, including nursing care delivery models. Model standards for implementing the national health objectives in rural communities will be the primary focus. Demographic characteristics and organization of the community will be considered in assessing appropriateness and effectiveness of models for improving access to service and reducing disparity among subpopulations.

Comprehensive Patient Management II

This clinical experience focuses on synthesis of theoretical, scientific, and clinical knowledge as well as practice-based skills in the diagnosis and management of existing and potential health problems based on appropriate standards of care. Emphasis will be placed on the collaborative and leadership roles of the advanced practice nurse in health care delivery.

Adv Phys/Hlth Assessment

on the principles and techniques of obtaining a comprehensive health assessment in the context of psychological and physiological developmental parameters. Emphasis is on differentiating between normal and abnormal findings in children, young and middle adults, and the elderly. The pathophysiology of each body system is included for greater distinction between the normal and abnormal. Lecture, one to two hours; laboratory, 3 to 12 hours per week.
