Students will acquire the fundamental basics in quantitative and qualitative nursing research. Legal and ethical issues are discussed. The students will also develop the knowledge and skills necessary to appraise the literature and/or grade the strength of recommendations and apply to evidence-based nursing practice, including up-to-date electronic resources.

Emphasis will be placed on current local, national, and global health issues in the context of public health nursing practice.
