Res Tech Applied Kinesiology/Hlth Promo

This course is intended to provide graduate students with an introduction to the diverse ways of reading, designing, conducting and communicating research in the various areas that comprise kinesiology and health promotion. Specific topics are detailed in the provisional program below. The course will follow a hybrid format in which interactive lectures and online content will be interspersed throughout the semester. This course should be preceded or accompanied by basic statistics.

Health Promotion Internship

KHP 679 is a three- or six-hour course which focuses on gaining practical experience in the professions of health education, health promotion, and/or health coaching. It provides an opportunity for graduate health promotion students and those enrolled in the graduate certificate in health coaching to apply the theories, knowledge and experiences gained from their coursework to real life situations.

Internship In Sep

This course is designed for graduate students involved in applied consulting activities in assigned sport or exercise settings. Students in this course agree to follow the ethics code of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology in their practice and will consult with an instructor in a timely way with any ethical-legal issues of concern. Students are also required to engage in 1-hour of supervision (individual or group) for every 10 hours of applied work.
