Advanced conducting; emphasis on advanced rehearsal techniques with use of instructional materials and advanced music for the high school ensemble. Continuation of secondary instrument performance and group teaching. Continued observation in the public schools with options for teacher-aide assignment.
A study of the 19th century harmonic idioms through projects in analysis and composition. Three meetings a week.
A basic course in instrumentation and arranging for typical school instrumental and vocal ensembles.
A study of musical style through structural, harmonic and melodic analyses.
Recording Techniques and Microphone Placement is designed for students to learn advanced techniques used in the recording of professional audio. Students will develop knowledge surrounding various microphone types and their applications, as well as industry standards for placing microphones to capture sound sources. Additionally, students will develop their ability to use historical and experimental recording techniques to create curated aesthetics in their audio recordings.
