Reestablishing Microsoft Office Desktop Shortcuts

Occasionally when a new version of software is installed, old shortcuts are left to the previous version of the software.  These shortcuts need to be removed, and new shortcuts need to be established.

Steps:
1.

If you get this error on any of your exisiting shortcuts, click "Yes" to remove them.

You may want to make note of the shortcuts that you are removing so that you can make sure to add them back.

Go to the Start Menu and click on All Programs

Find the program for which you want to create a shortcut, and right-click on it.

Please note that Office 2016 programs are listed individually in the All Programs list (they are no longer in a separate Microsoft Office folder).

Choose to Pin to Taskbar or Pin to Start Menu.

You also have the option to Send to Desktop (create desktop shortcut).
