Involves traditional discussion of Mendelian, population, and quantitative genetics and their application. Includes development of genetic prediction and introduces genomic techniques for increasing accuracy of prediction.
Introduction to anatomy and physiological processes related to reproduction with a focus on farm animals. Evaluations of management procedures as they relate to reproductive physiology. A fundamental study of the nutrients, their utilization and their role in the animal in conjunction with an applied understanding of the manner in which feedstuffs are evaluated and blended to meet the various species needs for those nutrients. Prereq: ASC 101 and CHE 230 or CHE 236.
