A community- or field-based experience in Spanish under the supervision of a faculty member. May be repeated to a maximum of 15 credits. PASS/FAIL ONLY. Approval of A&S Dean required for credits above six per semester.

Readings and analysis of texts from and about Medieval and Early Modern Spain, with emphasis on cultural production within social and historical contexts. May be repeated to a maximum of 6 credits with topic change.

Offers and introduction to Spanish linguistics; establishes the basis for future application of linguistic principles. Provides students with a level of knowledge that enables them to make connections between the structure of Spanish and relevant issues in contemporary Hispanic linguistics.

The study of U.S. Latino history, with primary emphasis on the evolution of politics of immigration and Spanish in the U.S. These issues will be studied with the primary intent of what they mean to Central Kentucky. This course is conducted in Spanish and incorporates a service learning component which is finalized the first week of the semester.
