This year the University of Kentucky’s Chemistry Department will be having our annual demonstration show to celebrate National Chemistry Week on Friday, October 24th at 7pm. National Chemistry Week is sponsored by the American Chemical Society and this year is from October 19-October 25th and the theme is “The Sweet Side of Chemistry: Candy”. University Press of Kentucky author T.R.C. Hutton has been named recipient of a 2014 Kentucky History Award given by the Kentucky Historical Society and the 2014 Appalachian Writers Association’s Book of the Year Award for Nonfiction for his book "Bloody Breathitt: Politics and Violence in the Appalachian South."
Allan Butterfield will be receiving the Society of Free Radical Biology and Medicine’s Mentoring Excellence Award at the society's national conference in Seattle, Nov. 19-23.
