A general introduction to cognitive psychology through lecture and lab. Emphasis is placed on theory and research in information processing, memory, decision-making, language and the means by which cognitive psychology is applied to our lives. The lab is designed to provide an opportunity for individualized experience with research equipment and methodology in cognitive psychology. Lecture, three hours per week; laboratory, two hours per week.

In the laboratory component, students will design, conduct, and write up their own social psychological study. Lecture/discussion, three hours per week; laboratory, two hours per week. This course is a Graduation Composition and Communication Requirement (GCCR) course in certain programs, and hence is not likely to be eligible for automatic transfer credit to UK.
