Graduate Recruitment and Admissions: Funding and Resources

Recruitment Funding

The Dean’s Office is offering financial assistance to offset some of the costs of travel for graduate student applicants.  The purpose of this program is to help support departments when top applicants would be unlikely to visit campus without some help with travel expenses.  Such expenses are limited to domestic airfare, mileage, meals, and/or lodging. 

In order to receive funding, please submit a request to as early as possible, but no later than February 15, 2020. This request should include the following information:

  • A rank-ordered list of priority graduate student recruits with a summary of their credentials (GPA, GRE, training, diversity, etc.) as justification.
  • A proposed budget for allocating the funds.
  • Feel free to include a ‘fall-back plan’ for allocating funds to applicants’ farther down your priority list in the case that your top-ranked recruits decline your admissions offer or are unable to visit campus.

The Graduate School also offers funding to assist with the recruitment of under represented minority graduate students. The College encourages DGS's to submit an application to them directly to support your efforts.
