Tyler Clifton

Hello, my name is Tyler Clifton and I am from Corbin, Kentucky. I went to the Gatton Academy and Corbin High School. I am currently a senior here at UK and am majoring in Neuroscience on a pre-med track. On campus, I am the president of NeuroCATS, an organization that does outreaches to schools and teaches students about Neuroscience. I am also in two research labs on campus; in one lab I am conducting research into a protein in the cochlea and in the other I am looking at how gene markers predict spinal cord tumor prognoses. Furthermore, I am a mentor in the Amachi Program here in Lexington and do fun events like going to SkyZone with my mentee, Matthew. In my hometown, I work as an E.R. tech in the Emergency Room, where I do EKGs and Phlebotomy work. For fun, I like to read and really like to travel to new places. This summer I am going on a study abroad with the College of Arts & Sciences, where we will be studying the science of happiness in Japan! Coming to UK has been an amazing decision! The things that I have learned and how engaging my classes have been has been awesome! Go Cats!
