Jennifer Branscum
Academic Advisor

I'm Jennifer Branscum (she/her), but you can call me "Jennifer" or "Ms. Branscum"!

I grew up in Stearns, Kentucky (that's in McCreary County, on the very southern border of Kentucky & Tennessee) and graduated from McCreary Central High School. I spent my time in high school with Berea College's Upward Bound and in marching band.

As a first-generation and Appalachian student, I graduated from UK with my Bachelors of Arts in Communication. I did a little bit of everything from being a K Crew leader, Peer Mentor with Student Support Services, a Resident Advisor, DJ at WRFL, columnist for the Kentucky Kernel, and even a barista at Starbucks in Willy T.

After working as an RA, I knew I loved helping students so I went on to obtain my Masters of Education with a focus on college students from the University of Louisville. While there, I was lucky enough to work for their tutoring center, Exploratory Advising, flex my skills as a Marking & Communications Graduate Assistant, and advise students in the College of Business.

I'm so honored to get to come back to UK, where when I'm not working, you can find me: listening to any variety of pop punk music, delving into a true crime story, practicing my amateur photography skills, traveling, petting other people's pets, playing D&D, drinking coffee, or planning another trip abroad.

I wholeheartedly look forward to working with you!
