Cody Lee Smith
Welcome, Wildcats! My name is Cody Smith (He/Him/They).
Originally from Louisville, KY, I graduated from Pleasure Ridge Park High School before spending about 12 years in Morehead, KY. While there, I attended Morehead State University, where I completed both my undergraduate and graduate studies. Morehead is also where I met my lovely husband during freshman move-in for Marching Band! I played clarinet through high school and spun flag and rifle with the MSU colorguard. We now happily call Georgetown, KY, home, where we live with our three cats: Mija, Nyx, and Pouf.
My professional background is a bit of a mix. I have had the privilege of working with students at the elementary, high school, and collegiate levels, both inside and outside of the formal classroom setting. I also spent several years working in Human Resources. Ultimately, I love being in a people-facing role centered on providing support, encouragement, and opportunities for development to help people reach their educational and professional goals.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of my time cuddling my cats while playing some sort of video game (usually Pokémon!). My husband and I are also big fans of board games and regularly host game nights for friends and family. I am a lifelong lover of music and food, so I am always happy to hear your recommendations for either!
See you soon! I truly look forward to getting to know you and being part of your Wildcat journey.
