Caleb Walcott-George
Assistant Professor

My name is Caleb Walcott-George and I am an assistant professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Kentucky. I am also the director of the LUKY (Luminescence at University of Kentucky) lab. I use a variety of different techniques including luminescence dating, cosmogenic nuclides, GIS methods, and simple numerical models to understand changes in ice sheets and glaciers during the Quaternary. I earned my MS and PhD at the University at Buffalo, where I worked with Dr. Jason Briner. Previously, I earned a BA in both geology and German at Middlebury College. When not thinking about glaciers, I enjoy cooking, reading, skiing, canoeing, cycling, and spending time with my cats.

I am actively recruiting students to work on projects related to glacial geology and/or luminescence dating. Feel free to reach out to me for any potential MS, PhD, or postdoctoral opportunities (c.wg@uky.edu).
