Anna Patel

My name is Anna Patel, and I am originally from Georgia but Kentucky is my forever home. I am a double major in neuroscience and psychology on the pre-dental track, with a strong interest in understanding behavior and improving patient care.

On campus, I am involved in the Indian Student Association and Minority Students for Neuroscience, where I have found community and opportunities to connect with students who share similar interests and backgrounds. While my schedule is busy, I still make time to give back when I can and stay involved in meaningful ways.

Outside of academics, I enjoy cooking, which has always been an important part of my life and a way for me to stay connected to my family. Art is also a way for me to connect to the world around me, and it has shaped a big part of who I am. I also enjoy staying active and taking time to recharge.

I chose to attend the University of Kentucky because of the strong sense of community and the wide range of opportunities available. My freshman year taught me how important it is to step outside of your comfort zone and find where you belong, and that is something I hope to help other students do.
