Braley Howard
Hi! My name is Braley Howard, and I am a sophomore beginning in Fall 2026 at the University
of Kentucky. I am majoring in Biology with a minor in Creative Writing while pursuing the
pre-med track. I am also a Singletary Scholar in the Lewis Honors College. I am wanting to
pursue a career as a physician.
I’m originally from Paintsville, Kentucky, and I love staying active and creative in my free time.
Some of my favorite hobbies include hiking, listening to music, writing, and shopping.
On campus, I stay involved in several organizations that support both my academic and
personal growth. I am a member of Phi Delta Epsilon (a pre-med fraternity), Phi Lambda
sorority, CHAARG, and MedKids. Being part of these groups has helped me build meaningful
connections while staying focused on my goals. I strongly believe in balancing academic
responsibilities with social activities and personal interests.
In addition, I am involved in undergraduate research in Dr. Monje’s lab in the College of
Medicine’s Neurosurgery Department, where I study Schwann cell biology. This opportunity has
allowed me to explore my passion for medicine in a hands-on environment.
One of the main reasons I chose the University of Kentucky was its diverse campus community
and the wide range of opportunities available to students. I’m excited to continue growing here
and to help others find their place at UK. Feel free to reach out with any questions
