Biography
Prior to coming to the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Kentucky (UK), I practiced as a criminal defense attorney, specifically a public defender in both Illinois and Kentucky. I have been a licensed attorney since 2004 and continue to maintain both my Illinois and Kentucky licenses to date. I made the jump to higher education in 2017 to be able to spend more quality time with my little boy. As a single mom I value the work-life balance that UK provides. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, participating in my family’s fantasy football league, watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs, and reading.
At UK, I advise students who are pursuing a major within the College of Arts and Sciences and, as a secondary role, I also advise students across campus who have an interest in going to law school. Along with advising, I am also an instructor with the Political Science department and during the fall semester I teach a section of UK 101 (Academic Orientation) which is restricted to A&S students who have an interest in law school.
