Note:
Food supply chains represent critical market relationships between agriculture and the rest of the market in creating and delivering value. Food system performance requires many measures - quality, safety, innovation, market responsiveness, equitable access and others. This applied course explores the relationships between agriculture and these value-creation chains through an examination of supply chain foundations applied to food and practical business approaches to achieving high performing market partnerships. This course is co-taught by Matt Beeson - former Procurement Manager for KFC - and Tim Woods - professor and past President of the Food Distribution Research Society - and will involve extensive industry case and leader interactions. ECO 201 is required. No further pre-requisites are mandated, but it may be helpful to have completed AEC 305 and/or another 300-level marketing course.
