Introduces graduate students and postdocs to diverse and fulfilling career paths beyond academia, spanning sectors such as government, non- profit, industry, education, consulting, and more. Through a combination of practical exercises and real-world insights, students will develop essential skills for exploring or pursuing a non-academic career. The course will guide students in crafting tailored job application materials, identifying and articulating transferable skills, creating effective networking strategies, and preparing for success in a variety of professional environments. Students will also hear valuable perspectives from advanced degree alumni who have successfully established careers in non-academic fields. No prerequisite other than graduate student standing.

An interdisciplinary, topical or experimental course to be approved by the Dean of the Graduate School. A particular course can be offered no more than twice under the number GS 600. May be repeated to a maximum of six credits.
