Social workers must be able to evaluate knowledge and critically think about the research that informs practice. Additionally, social workers must be consumers as well as producers of evidence based research and practice. This course covers the requisite foundations of knowledge of the scientific approach, tools to identify resources, and skills to tailor interventions, implement evidence-based interventions and evidence supported common social work practice factors. Implementation science, the strategies and practice of understanding effective interventions in social work practice, is examined as an ultimate outcome of advanced social work practice.
