The course offers a detailed investigation of contemporary topics in fields of public financial management and analysis using cases, articles and guest lectures. Students will be able to draw meaningful conclusions about the efficiency and effectiveness of federal, state and local financial systems and policy. Topics will include budget reform, changing accounting requirements, internal audit reform, and other issues impacting the ever-changing world of public financial policy.
