The Patient Access Department is committed to providing up-to-date reliable information, support resources, financial assistance and programs to blood cancer patients and their families. This internship will provide the opportunity to build relationships in the community, speak and connect with healthcare professionals and patients, as well as learn invaluable organization and self-determination skills. Interns will help manage, but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Develop an outreach plan to increase Leukemia & Lymphoma Society patient referrals within 90 days of diagnosis in the Louisville area through building relationships with health care facilities and professionals
- Connect with patients that have utilized LLS patient programs and provide them with local opportunities to get involved
- Create and develop a marketing and communications plan to increase participation in the Patti Robinson Kaufmann First Connection Program
- Represent LLS at community health fairs and expos
