5 Things You Didn't Know About Dee Beegle

Meet Dee Beagle who works in the POT IBU.

My parents are from Campbellsville, KY and I was born in Frankfort, KY. We moved to Panama City, FL when I was in middle school. I moved to Mobile, AL to go to Spring Hill College. I met my husband, Bud, in Mobile and we have 2 sons. Matthew is 22 and just joined the Marines. Taylor is 20 and attends DePauw University in Indiana. Bud got a job with Lexmark in 2005 and we moved to Lexington 2 weeks before Katrina hit.

What do you do in your spare time? We have two Labs, a white (Harper) and chocolate (Jenny) that we are very active with. My husband Bud and I take the dogs hiking, our favorite place is the Red River Gorge. We like to do outdoor activities, zipline, hiking, white water rafting and canoeing. We recently bought an older house and we are doing some home improvements. We are very handy with home improvements but with this house wanted to take on new challenges. We put in hardwood floors in the living room and family room with designs and are getting ready to start on the master bedroom. Our biggest challenge is building bookcases. We have never done carpentry work before. Both of these challenges have let us work with new tools and really made us think about the project. We have really enjoyed the projects and we are pleased with the outcome.

What is your favorite movie or book? I love to read, so this is a hard question. I have so many books and authors that I love. A fun series that I like to read is Janet Evanovich, the Stephanie Plum series. They are very light and funny books.

Are you a cat or dog person? I am a dog person. I have had dogs in my life since I was 10 years old. I have 2 dogs now that are labs. Jenny is 10 and a Chocolate Lab and Harper is 9 months old and a white Lab.

What is your favorite food? I love very crunchy cookies, chocolate chip and peanut butter are my favorite. My favorite meal is Italian.

Have you ever had a brush with fame? I was born in Kentucky, but I moved to Florida and then to Mobile, Alabama to go to college. Mobile, Alabama hosted the Junior Miss Contest. In the late 1990’s I worked for the production side of the Junior Miss contest. The majority of the production team came from California and they hired locals to be gophers. It was so fun and I learned so much! My name was on the credit list. You had to look fast, but it was there. Fantastic experience!
