This course will provide students with a detailed review of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and their individual and collective association with health and wellbeing across the lifespan. The course includes a review of ACE measurement, prevalence, and health impact. Further, the class will provide an opportunity to investigate strategies for reducing and addressing ACE exposure within communities and beyond, with specific emphasis on Positive Childhood Experiences (PACEs), resiliency, and trauma informed care. Students will work collaboratively to explore these topics throughout the course.
