This course explores the connection between the health of people and the natural and built environment. Focus is given to understanding the relationships between biological, chemical, and social factors that produce unhealthy environments that sicken individuals throughout their lifespan. The important influence of environmental policy and regulation to protect the health and safety of human populations is examined as well as the role of environmental justice in creating healthy communities.
