Introduction To Pharmaceutical Sciences

Introduction to Pharmaceutical Sciences is a course for all new graduate students in the Pharmaceutical Sciences program. The main objectives are 1) to facilitate lab rotations and 2) to introduce a set of 'scientific life skills' necessary for success in graduate level research. A series of lectures/discussions on these topics will be presented. The course will conclude with short presentations by the students, summarizing their first mentored research rotation. These presentations, along with a short paper describing this research experience, written in the form of a scientific manuscript, will allow the students to practice two of the most important skills necessary for a successful career in science (writing and presentation), and will form the basis for the course grade.
