Note:
This is a course that explores and provides the techniques and critical base for making digital images. The framework of the course will involve lecture, reading, métier assignments, and critique, all of which revolve around a hands-on approach to capturing photographic images with the use of a digital camera as a tool. Through the combination of demonstrations and assignments, students learn to see photographically through an exploration of the basic tools, techniques, and aesthetics of digital photography, with an emphasis on creative use of camera controls, exposure, and digital imaging software. (If you have already taken Digital Photography you can take the optional Visual Storytelling.) This course requires prior approval for registration. All students must apply and be accepted through the Office of Education Abroad into UK- Sponsored Travel Program: The Paris Art Adventure: Cityscapes in Light and Sound. This course has local meetings and a REQUIRED travel component to Paris and has international travel and other travel costs.
