This course was created for Accelerated BSN students. It is designed to provide classroom and clinical experiences to enable students to provide nursing care for women and their families during the intrapartum, and postpartum, and neonatal periods. Further, this course examines health issues of women across the lifespan, such as contraception, menopause, reproductive tract cancers, and infertility. It emphasizes clinical judgment and includes development of cue recognition and analysis within maternity and women's health care. Clinical will focus on using the concepts of quality and safety, teaching-learning, therapeutic communication, inter-professional collaboration, and culturally competent nursing care to generate the best possible evidence-based patient-centered care solutions.
