Note:
In this studio course, students will capture, create, record, mix, present, and critique multiple sound projects. Sonic forms may include experimental soundscapes, popular song, spoken word, modern radio theatre, podcasts, spatial/sonic interventions, etc. No musical or sound experience is required for this course. The course will cover basic digital audio workstations use, field recording techniques, digital instruments, synthesizers, sequencers, and samplers as well as basic mixing and mastering approaches for final class presentations. An intermediate level course that allows students to explore a variety of multimedia environments. Topics may include programming, 3d, video/digital filmmaking, audio, and experimental or hybrid forms. Nine studio hours per week. May be repeated to a maximum of nine hours when identified under a different subtitle.
