UK Army ROTC Combat Water Survival Test (CWST) – 2011

The Battalion conducts a CWST as part of cadet training. During the test, Cadets are required to tread water for five minutes, complete a 15-meter swim while wearing their load bearing vest (LBV) and carrying a M-16 above water, perform an equipment ditch (jump into the pool with their LBV and M-16 then drop everything and swim to the surface), and complete a three-meter drop while blindfolded, wearing their LBV and holding a M-16. MS3s are required to pass this test to be eligible to attend LDAC the following summer.
