CONTROLLED ENROLLMENT. Students must have submitted their Placement Confirmation Form to the Field Office to register for the course, and should allow 7-10 days after confirming their placement for enrollment overrides to be issued. Class will be held at Coldstream Research Campus at 1648 McGrathiana Parkway, Lexington, KY 40511 in the Training Resource Center (TRC) Conference Room C. Students in this course engage in a generalist social work field placement under the direction of a faculty field professor and an agency field instructor. Through field education seminars students integrate knowledge, skills, and behaviors from prerequisite and concurrent courses, to demonstrate foundation social work practice with individuals, families, small groups, organizations and communities. The focus includes attention to context, policy, ethical considerations, the application of theory, and the use of research-informed interventions. This course includes specified hours per semester of seminar (25 hours) and experiential learning (275 hours) associated with an agency placement.
