About the Electronics Shop

The electronics shop is run by Art Sebesta. Art handles typical lab troubles such as stirplates that are not stirring and ovens that are shorted out as well as more involved tasks such as building a black box to make the gonkulator in your fradistat send data to your Banana 6000 Junior. Art commonly spends his weekends exploring the wild blue yonder in his plane (or in the hangar repairing it).

Art's approach to his job is simple: "Until a certain degree of perfection is realized, things often run in unpredictable and undesirable ways. When laboratory equipment in the chemistry department is not functioning, my job is to make it see the error of its ways." What we often find is that if Art can't fix it either a) it can't be fixed or b) the equipment was obsolete anyway.

Equipment for student laboratories has top priority in the electronics shop. Please be patient if you have to wait a day or two to get your Variac repaired.
