Prereq: Promotion to the Advanced Development Phase (M4) of the M.D. curriculum.
This is a course for fourth year students who have completed their core Obstetrics and Family Medicine rotations and are interested in further Family Medicine with Obstetrics experience. Students will spend their month in the Family Birth place, L&D service and outpatient prenatal care in a Family Medicine - Primary Care offices. Emphases will be placed on interview techniques, counseling concepts, principles of preventive health care, and the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, identifying complications or potential risks, treatment principles and follow-up care of the prenatal, antenatal and postnatal period.
