Welcome to the 2025 UK Geology Alumni reunion weekend web site sponsored by the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences and College of Arts & Sciences.
The theme of the reunion is “Honoring the Past – Embracing the Future” of Earth & Environmental Sciences (EES) at UK.
We are honoring the past by recognizing fifty years of service by distinguished Professor Frank Ettensohn (the longest tenure of any faculty member in UK Geology history) and the career of 2025 EES Distinguished Alumnus Prof. Jack Pashin (UK M.S. ’85, Ph.D. ’90) of Oklahoma State University.
We are embracing the future by holding a symposium featuring EES faculty that will highlight emerging trends in research, education, and public outreach driven by environmental impacts on civilization and the need for development of resources for the energy transition.
There are also many reasons just to visit Lexington again - enjoy the camaraderie of fellow alumni, see how much UK has grown in the past decades, partake in traditional Bluegrass activities such as Keeneland and UK Football, or participate in a field trip led by EES faculty.
This is a tentative schedule of events. We request that you RSVP with a nominal reservation fee ($25) that will help defer the cost of all events and allow us to gauge interest.
