This course will allow the student to explore the shared past of American and German healthcare systems and pharmaceutical industries through visits to historical and current sites including: the University of Heidelberg, School of Pharmacy and Pharmacy museum, University of Heidelberg Clinic Hospital, House of Pharma and Healthcare, and several pharmaceutical companies. Discussions about current healthcare systems will be amplified by visits to practice and research sites, such as hospital pharmacies and area pharmaceutical companies. Students will have the opportunity to develop their thoughts about the future of American healthcare through discussion and debate.
