This course will reinforce to fourth year dental students the principles of basic and applied pharmacology enabling them to evaluate and manage patients with systemic and oral diseases. The course will be given before the Dental National Board Examination. This should help the students review for the pharmacology portion of the examination. Advances in drug therapy that have occurred since the basic pharmacology courses will be discussed. The course will be presented in both lecture and case presentation format to help the students understand and recognize the importance of pharmacologic agents in the management of their patients.
