Episodic Health Problems In Adult And Geriatric Primary Care

This course focuses on the primary care nurse practitioner's assessment, diagnosis and management of episodic health problems of adult and geriatric individuals and populations. Emphasis will be on differentiating a variety of signs and symptoms and interpreting data to formulate differential diagnoses. The use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care will be emphasized. The impact of episodic health problems on individual, family and population health will be analyzed. In addition, the primary care nurse practitioner's role as a collaborative member of the health care team will be evaluated.
